**Varsity Fall Baseball Information**

For Players In Grades 9 through 12

Hoosier Diamond would like to invite you to participate in the 2008 Hoosier Diamond Fall Baseball League.

The Hoosier Diamond Fall Baseball League is not just an “area” fall league.  The Hoosier Diamond Fall Baseball League is an opportunity for high school baseball players to participate against baseball talent from outside their own backyards.  Last year’s fall league had nearly 550 participants that ranged geographically from Michigan, extreme northern Indiana to nearly the Ohio River, and west into Illinois. 

The Hoosier Diamond Fall Baseball League has quickly become the largest most successful fall baseball leagues in the Midwest.

Beginning in 2008 Hoosier Diamond will offer competition in 3 regions throughout Indiana.  Our North Central Indiana Region will be conducted at Concord High School and Elkhart Memorial High School.  Our Central Region will be conducted at Trinity Ballpark (Noblesville), Greenfield Central High School, Hamilton Heights High School, Sheridan High School (we will be adding additional locations in the Indy Metro area for our Central Region).  Our Southern Region will be conducted at Mitchell High School (we will be adding additional sites to our Southern Region).

Hoosier Diamond’s High School Fall Baseball League provides two different  divisions.  Our “Open League” is for any player in grades 9-12.  Our “High School Select League” is for players in grades 10-12.  “Select League” players must have the recommendation (signature on the application) of their high school coach.  “Open League” players do not need the signature of the high school coach.

The Hoosier Diamond High School Select League is an opportunity for top high school baseball talent to participate against each other.  Participating in the Select League provides you the opportunity to receive valuable exposure to college baseball programs, as well as, provides an opportunity for your high school baseball coach to follow your fall progress.  Weekly Hoosier Diamond will be providing nearly 300 college baseball coaches, pro scouts, and high school coaches with updated fall league reports on Select League participants.  Last year baseball talent representing 3 states participated in our Select League.

The Hoosier Diamond High School Open League is open to any high school baseball player.  This league offers participants the opportunity to continue developing their baseball skills throughout the fall while playing against some very talented high school baseball players.  Also, just like our Select League, we forward your weekly stats to high school coaches and college coaches.

A Fall Showcase Will Be A Part Of The 2008 Hoosier Diamond Fall League:  All high school players, in both the “Open League” and “Select League,” will be provided with a free entry into the Hoosier Diamond Baseball Showcase.  Hoosier Diamond’s Showcase has become one of the Midwest’s top recruiting events.  During the Showcase each player will participate in a complete skill evaluation session.  During this session participants will be evaluated by our staff of college baseball coaches and Major League Baseball scouts.  Evaluations will be conducted in a “pro-tryout” format.  Following the event players will receive a complete evaluation report, and in addition, each player’s complete Showcase profile, which includes name, home address, academic information, baseball stats, and Showcase evaluation results, will be provided to the many college baseball coaches in attendance, and to more than 300 college baseball coaches from throughout the United States that have requested this information.  Dennis Kas, another Hall of Fame coach, assistant coach at Huntington College, and professional baseball scout will serve as our Showcase director.  The normal Showcase registration cost is $185.  Because of your Hoosier Diamond Fall League participation your Showcase registration is free.  This is a $185 savings. 

Hoosier Diamond’s Fall Baseball League provides you with 5 weeks of competition, beginning with four weeks of league play starting Sunday August 24th (double headers for each team each Sunday).  We do skip Labor Day Weekend if we are not rained out the first week.  League play will be followed by a post-season tournament.  Also, during the Showcase, each player will participate in a Showcase game.

All  Fall League Games Will Be Played On Sunday to avoid conflict with fall school sports. 

Registration is open to individuals or teams.  Individual participants are assigned to teams by position and enrollment grade.  If you have friends or teammates that you would like to be teamed with please indicate this on your application.  Individual registration is $195.  A $95 deposit is required when submitting your application with the balance due no shortly before the start of the season.  Players registering after August 16 must pay their entire registration fee in full.  If you are interested in entering a complete team please contact Hoosier Diamond at 317-773-1411 for team registration information and team discounts.

Why Hoosier Diamond’s Fall Baseball League?

  2. Hoosier Diamond uses the fall league to select players that will participate in the USA Baseball Junior Olympic Tournament (any player, 17 and under, will be eligible for selection).

Hoosier Diamond provides you with excellent exposure to college baseball coaches.  Hoosier Diamond publishes the Hoosier Diamond newspaper.  Our publication is dedicated to high school and college baseball coverage.  Many college coaches and professional scouts subscribe to Hoosier Diamond.  Fall league coverage will appear in an upcoming issue of the Hoosier Diamond.
  4. Hoosier Diamond’s Fall Baseball Staff is excellent.  We select the best fall league coaches available to us.  The umpire staff is one of the finest in the Midwest.

College coaches, pro scouts and high school coaches receive weekly email updates on “Select League” and "Open League” participants.  Each week Hoosier Diamond will publish on our website fall league statistics.  These statistics along with weekly highlights will be used for format a weekly scouting report that will be provided to nearly 300 college and high school baseball coaches from throughout the Midwest.  This report is also a terrific tool for your high school coach to track your fall performance.  In addition, along with the other fall league players, will be able to follow the league’s progress.  Each week we will post on our website a weekly statistical report.

  7. The Hoosier Diamond Fall Baseball League is one of the oldest most respected fall leagues in the Midwest.  Last year participants represented high schools and communities from Michigan, extreme northern Indiana, central Indiana, Illinois, and south to nearly the Ohio River.  Last year Hoosier Diamond fielded more than 30 fall league teams and we expect the league to grow this year. 

Hoosier Diamond’s Fall Baseball League has quickly become the largest and most successful fall baseball program in the Midwest.  No other fall baseball program offers more opportunities than Hoosier Diamond’s Fall League.

Fall league registration is limited and because of the large geographical area in which we draw players from we encourage you to register quickly to secure a roster spot.

Refund Policy: 

Refunds are made only in cases of injury or illness (must be accompanied by a physician’s statement)  that would prevent the participant from playing in the entire season.  Only the $95 deposit is refundable.

If your application is received and the league is full your entire amount paid will be refunded.
